Savvy Veg is proud to host the 32nd Carnival of the Green

Carnival of the Green, was created by Triple Pundit and City Hippy as a weekly roving journal of the green blogosphere. Last weeks carnival was hosted by A Blog Around The Clock. Next week, The Big Green Show will be hosted by Jen's Green Journal

In this weeks COTG, we've got global warming and climate change, the question of whether the earth might be better off without us, and much more, according to the green meanderings of our many minds.

Let's Start With The Inconvenient Truth About Global Warming and Climate Change

Bora aka Coturnix at A Blog Around The Clock posts about the best review of 'An Inconvenient Truth', Brokeback Earth by Godfrey Cheshire, with a couple of tantalizing excerpts from his article.

Just Got Off The Phone With Al Gore: The Blue Voice sends an account of Bruce Miller in a conference call with Al Gore. Eli Pariser of MoveOn.org interviewed Al and passed on questions about global warming, and his movie and book, 'An Inconvenient Truth'.

Jim Hoggan, DeSmogBlog responds to The Vancouver Sun's stunning example of PR trickery: Failing to Question the Sources of Climate Change Denial Isn't Fair to Citizens Concerned About Climate Change. "What we have...is a small clutch of contrarians with a big budget."

Greenhouse Defect In New Zealand: According to Arunn Narasimhan, a NZ gov't site gives misleading info to schoolchildren about the cause of global warming, and the New Zealand Climate Science Coalition has demanded that the info be withdrawn.

Sharon at Charismatic Megafauna is resolved to reduce carbon emissions after watching Al Gore's movie, 'An Inconvenient Truth'. She asks, "Are you up for the Carbon Neutral Challenge?"

The People And The Planet

Environmentalist Misanthropes: Jay Richards, on the allegations against 2006 Texas Distinguished Scientist Eric Pianka. He says Pianka's postive views on a devastating extermination of human beings aren't unique - other prominent scientists think the same.

Don Bosch at The Evangelical Ecologist refers to the above post by Jay Richards, and answers the question, "Is a lack of value for human life leading scientists and others to believe the planet would be better off without people?"

If They Can't Get Rid of Us One Way ... Stentor Danielson of debitage has a two-post series this week, arguing against colonizing space, to help solve the Earth's environmental problems: Moon Colonies 1: Overpopulation and Moon Colonies 2: Social Justice

How Are You Spending Your Summer Vacation?

Our Man In Florida, Harlan Weikle, Greener Magazine sent two pieces: Summer time and the travel is greening, if you know where to go - an eco vacation guide and from Sara Kate Kneidel, Fishing tips on the fly - is free range catch and release safer?

For virtual travellers, from the Guide To Green Living: A comprehensive list of tips to more efficiently cool your home in the summer

For green football fans, Ethical Football Gear: With the world cup upon us, Al at City Hippy wanted to see if he could put together an ethical football (aka soccer) kit. Amazing how easy it was...

Summer in Miami: Rebecca Carter, Greener Miami, gives us her Thoughts on Big Yellow Taxi lyrics related to Miami over-development. In Groovy Green, Rebecca tells us how to prepare for hurricanes in a 'greener' way.

Converting Lawns to Meadows: Sally and Sara Kate Kneidel, co-authors of Veggie Revolution, interviewed environmentalist Beth Henry. She converts lawns to native meadows and woodlands, using only local native plants, which provide food and shelter to wildlife.

A Dazzling Green Diversity

The Ecological Agenda: David Zaks and Chad Monfreda of World Changing review an article presenting a list of the Top 100 Relevant Ecological Questions. They discuss policy and scientific implications, and point out the most interesting questions.

Sharing is Caring: Kevin Kennedy of Clay and Wattles introduces the revolutionary idea of Creative Commons copyright and explains why environmentalists should be using it for websites and other works.

Bucky Lives! Interesting Thing of the Day: Joe Kissell, in his article, Global Energy Network, discusses a seldom-discussed Buckminster Fuller idea - interconnecting the world's electrical grids, leading to cheaper energy for all, and better international relations.

Toxic Animal Food: Gerry Pugliese, who helps run Disease Proof, posts an article by Joel Fuhrman, MD. Dr. Fuhrman discusses the danger of toxins in many of the animal products we eat.

Be Very Very Afraid of GE Corn; Savvy Veg comments and excerpts Jeffrey M. Smith's article about pesticides from GE corn (may be) in our intestines. Judy says, "I'm not waiting for long term studies to prove beyond a doubt that GE foods are harmful. I believe it now."

Does This Mean We Should Shop At Walmart? Siel, the Green LA Girl looks at what it means for consumers when big chains -- such as Walmart -- start buying and selling fair trade products, in Fair trade and a one-track mind.

Exit Laughing

Beyonce's Dinner Ruined By Ghost Of Her Coat: From Francis Stokes at Sludgie, an enviro website with a humorous slant. Francis hilariously recounts PETA's confrontation with Beyonce Knowles at a ritzy dinner launching her fur clothing line.

Thanks for visiting Carnival of the Green! See you next week at Jen's Green Journal.
