Bill McKibben is the author of ‘Deep Economy: The Wealth of Communities and the Durable Future’, scholar in residence at Middlebury College, and cofounder of 350.org [1].

Wendell Berry is a farmer and writer in Port Royal, KY. They tell us why we need a national agricultural policy based on ecological principles, and a 50-year farm bill to forthrightly address the problems of soil loss and degradation, toxic pollution, fossil-fuel dependency and the destruction of rural communities.
