Is Your Vegetarian Diet Interfering With Your Life?
Take The SV Quiz!

Hi! I'm Judy Kingsbury

Did you ever think, in the first rush of enthusiasm, how becoming vegetarian could drastically affect so many other things? Your work or school, your relationships with family and friends; ordinary things you took for granted, like travelling or going out to eat; the sheer amount of your time that it takes to be vegetarian ---

I was looking for ways to support you in the area that's most affected by going vegetarian - that would be your entire life! I wanted it to keep it light, fun and easy, rather than do a big report or article, because it's a delicate subject, being personal and individual to you. So I came up with the SV Lifestyle Quiz.

After you finish the quiz - which should take about five minutes - and send it, you'll get back your score. You'll also get a free individual evaluation from Savvy Vegetarian. I want you to know, I personally take the time to do each individual evaluation, and I give you my full and always positive attention.

Your Free Bonus!

I'd like to thank you for taking the SV Quiz, by sending you the brand new Free Report, "Savvy Vegetarian Nutrition: Eating For Maximum Effect", from Savvy Vegetarian, an excerpt from my upcoming book.

Plus, if you'd like, your name will be entered to win 30 minutes free vegetarian life coaching with Savvy Vegetarian. Three winners will be randomly selected from all quizzees. 30 minutes of coaching is worth $40, but is really a priceless lifelong value to you, saving you years of malnutrition and social unrest!

What do I get out of this?

Your taking the quiz supports Savvy Vegetarian by giving me some interaction. It helps me get to know the people who visit SV, and what you're thinking and feeling. That gives me ideas about new content for the site, to better support you in your quest for helpful vegetarian information.

How do you know we don't just want to get your information and sell it all over the net? Because, we're fanatical about privacy at Savvy Veg, and our reputation is on the line! I guarantee that any information you give us will be completely confidential.

Take the SV Quiz now.
For each question, mark one answer that's closest to what you would think, say or do.
Just so you know, the quiz is designed so there aren't any "right" answers, and you have nothing to lose, so feel free to be the real you!

1. How strict a vegetarian are you?

a) Never eat, wear or otherwise consume animal products, or associate with people who do.

b) Being all vegan is too hard, because I eat out with non-vegan friends a lot, and besides, cheeseless cheescake just isn't the same!

c) I'm completely veg, but eat cheese or eggs at every meal to be sure I'm getting enough protein, and B12, and don't overload on carbs.

d) I consider myself a vegetarian, but none of my family and friends are vegetarian. So I compromise by eating chicken or fish a couple times a week.

e) Vegetarian on and off. I like being vegetarian, but it's a lot of trouble, and not always satifying.

2. How do you feel about non-vegetarians?

a) I feel like they're doing something very wrong, and there has to be a way to make them stop.

b) I can't be in the same room with people eating meat, so I avoid associating with them.

c) Really they're just misinformed and need to be educated, which I try to do as much as possible.

d) If they don't bother me, I don't bother them.

e) The universe is unfolding as it should, and love is all you need.

3. What's your response when people are negative about your being vegetarian?

a) I tell them straight out they're ignorant, insensitive, and discriminating against me.

b) I don't say anything, but I don't hang out with those people anymore, don't talk to them at work, etc.

c) I calmly tell them why being vegetarian is good, and their diets are bad for them. That usually stops them.

d) I shrug and smile, and say "Hey, it's my choice, right? I'm not hurting you, and I don't criticize your diet, so live and let live, okay?

e) I say "Thanks for being concerned about me. Tell me what bothers you about my being vegetarian, and I'll try to put your mind at ease."

4. How are you doing with vegetarian cooking?

a) I hate cooking, and don't intend to change my mind. I've got a microwave and I find everything I need in the frozen food section and the deli.

b) I'm trying my best. But everything seems to be going against me.

c) It's challenging and a little scary, but I'm learning, slowly.

d) I think I'm getting pretty good at cooking. At least my food is edible, even though I'm not sure if I'm eating everything I should be.

e) I love vegetarian cooking! I make all my own food, with plenty of vegetables, whole grains, nuts, beans, etc, using the freshest, finest organic ingredients.

5. How do you balance your vegetarian diet with your lifestyle?

a) All my time is taken up with being vegetarian. I wonder sometimes if it's worth it!

b) Since I went veg, I've met so many cool vegetarians, and we hang out a lot. I've missed a bit of work/school lately, but hey! It's all good!

c) Not a problem! I eat the same as always, except I substitute cheese or veg sausage for meat. And I just tell them to hold the patty or the pepperoni when I go out to eat.

d) Doing okay, wish I had more time and people to talk to who understand. It helps that a couple of my friends are vegetarian and we sometimes cook together or go shopping.

e) I've adapted pretty well. My family and friends are supportive, because they're all health conscious, and most are vegetarian or semi-vegetarian.

6. How has your health changed since you became vegetarian?

a) Worse

b) No change

c) Somewhat improved

d) Never felt better in my life

e) Miraculous recovery from major illness

7. What's your level of physical activity?

a) Tri-athlete, could have competed in the Olympics, train at least three hours daily.

b) Pretty buff: Vigorous work out at least 3 times a week

c) Mild excercise daily

e) I'm not very physical.

e) I tend to go from one extreme to the other.

8. What is your biggest vegetarian challenge?

a) My parents/friends/partner are dead set against it, and I don't know any other vegetarians.

b) I'm always worried that I'm not getting the right nutrients, and I'll ruin my health.

c) Cooking: I'm a complete klutz in the kitchen.

d) Time: I don't have time to work/go to school/have a life, and maintain a high quality vegetarian diet.

e) Going out to eat, or travelling has been the biggest challenge. Most restaurants really don't "get" vegetarian food.

9. You've recently gone vegan, and you're invited to Easter dinner at Grandma's, along with a dozen meat-eating relatives. Ham, turkey and who knows what else are on the menu. What should you do?

a) Eating meat is morally wrong, and if you show up, it'll look like you're condoning that, so just don't go.

b) Tell Grandma you'll come, but you'll bring your own food. And, at the table, make an announcement that you're vegan - that way, you can clue in all your relatives at once.

c) Call Grandma and tell her what's happening, but not to worry about you, you'll just eat what you can.

d) Show up and say nothing, take a small piece of turkey and slip it to the dog or hide it under the brussels sprouts.

e) Thank Grandma for inviting you, give her flowers and a kissy hug, eat everything, and make nice with the relatives.

10. You're supposed to entertain and make dinner for some non-vegetarians, and just can't bring yourself to cook meat. What should you do?

a) Do whatever you have to do to get out of it.

b) This would be a perfect opportunity to turn on a bunch of meat-eaters to vegan and raw food!

c) Make it a potluck. That way, you'll save money, you won't have to cook meat, and everybody will be happy.

d) Take them out to a restaurant, order in, or have the meal catered.

e) Cook familiar things that are also vegetarian, that everybody likes, with a rich dessert, and nobody will miss the meat.
