Savvy Vegetarian Advice: Vegetarians Dieting - Weight Loss, Weight Gain, Fit and Healthy on Vegetarian Diet

Vegetarian Dieting: Whether your goal is weight gain or weight loss, there's plenty of evidence to show that a vegetarian or vegan diet helps, but going vegetarian isn't a magic wand. It takes time and dedication to reach and maintain your ideal weight, and having a fit and healthy body is a lifetime project.

Exercise is important, nutrition, counting calories - all that fun stuff! Keep in mind also that every body is different - there is no one size fits all in weight, diet, exercise, or anything else. If you're wondering whether a vegetarian diet will help you reach your ideal weight, you may find answers in the advice letters below.

Savvy Vegetarian gets a lot of advice letters, these days! I read them all, and answer as many as I can, as quickly as I can. I focus on answering the ones that seem most pressing, that I haven't answered before, and that I'm qualified to answer. My daughter Sarah is now answering advice letters too, so that means you're twice as likely to get an answer. It still might take us a while to respond.

If you want an answer now, you can learn a lot by reading the letters listed below. Or download any of the Free Savvy Vegetarian Reports. Or cruise the articles or resources. There's a lot of veggie info on Savvy Vegetarian. If you don't find what you need, please write to us. We're always glad to hear from you!

All the best, Judy Kingsbury, Savvy Vegetarian

"I have become a complete vegetarian - for almost 2 months now - and am doing very well. I find it very surprising that the complete elimination of meat has made such a huge difference compared to the very limited meat diet I was on in the previous 2 years. I never thought that eliminating the last few ounces of meat each week from my diet would make such a huge difference." - G.M.
