"Today, the Center for Disease Control admits that 1 child in 166 has been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. In 1971, autism affected 4 in 10,000 children."

That's a quote from an article by Barbara Loe Fisher, in the Sept./ Oct. issue of Mothering Magazine. Barbara is the mother of an autistic child whose affliction was directly related to side effects of vaccination. She gives similar alarming statistics for asthma, learning disabilities, ADHD, diabietes, and arthritis.

Barbara is the mother of an autistic child, and cofounder and president of the Natinal Vaccine Information Center, author of the book, "DPT: A Shot in the Dark", editor of "The Vaccine Reaction" newsletter, and has served on various advisory committees & forums.

Her article lays out some pretty convincing arguments that early childhood vaccinations are one of the major causes of the dramatic increase in crippling lifelong ailments in children. Apparently, there were reports in the scientific literature in the '60's & '70 of brain inflammation & death in babies from DPT shots. Of course, the general public had no knowledge of those reports, and largely assume that vaccinations are a safe and effective means of protecting their children from fatal childhood illnesses.

I had my three children vaccinated. Now I thank God that they by some miracle escaped serious injury. Although, my youngest had pretty severe ADHD, learning disabilities and allergies. She was helped by diet, alternative medicine, her meditation practice & learning self-directed coping mechanisms/p>

My daughter Sarah, after reading this and other articles, won't allow her children any further vaccinations. The thought of all those children (1 in 166 with autism!!) boggles my mind, and breaks my heart. And makes me so angry! I remember thinking, back in the mid-eighties, that people I knew who avoided vaccinating their children were well-meaning, but extreme. How right they were, and how ignorant I was! (And still am, but that's another topic!)

This and similar articles confirm that it doesn't serve the public interest to continue vaccinating young children. The cure appears to be far worse than the diseases that vaccinations have eliminated.

But never fear! In the same issue of Mothering Magazine, "a determined mother demonstrates that full recovery from autism is possible" That's if you catch it soon enough, and have the knowledge, courage, and resources to apply. Mary Romaniec lists numerous resources available to parents of autistic children, way too many to give here, including many support organizations & websites. If you'd like to know more, please get a copy of the Sept/Oct issue, or go to Mothering Magazine.com.
