Cardiovascular Health: Low-fat, veggie diet may lower cholesterol more

A friend sent a link to this article which appeared on MSN May 2, 2005.

According to a recent study, written up in The Annals of Internal Medicine, "a low-fat diet rich in vegetables, fruits, whole grains and beans has twice the cholesterol-lowering power of a conventional low-fat diet - even when the two diets have the same amount of calories and fat"

This is far from the first article published on this subject, but it's one of the few that has made it to the mainstream press. Usually you have to send out a search party to slog through the online jungles and unearth vague references in obscure corners of the net.

Link to the articleto read about yet another advantage to a vegetarian diet - lowering your cholesterol levels. O.K., so what if they say 'plant based diet' - that's just a vague way to say vegetarian.
