Some Excellent Alternative Health, Vegan, Vegetarian Nutrition Links
I've been surfing
the net this weekend, instead of gardening, walking, swimming etc
for a change, since it's too hot for this pasty white Northern Euro type to
venture out of doors. I found some interesting sites I hadn't encountered, that
I'm sure I should have known about long before. Even though I've
managed without these sites until now, they are very useful, and have already added
greatly to the vegetarian nutrition trivia crowding out my brain.
I do intend to review the sites and add them to the SV resource pages, but for now,
here they are undigested:
-
News Target, a health, medicine and technology information site,
run by Mike Adams, an independent health crusader and prolific writer whose mission is simply
to tell the truth about any and all health issues freely, to anyone who cares to hear it.
Mike sells his books at Truth Publishing
-
Dr. Michael Greger, frank, funny, thorough, and extensively referenced, publishes Vegan
friendly articles in his newsletter, 'Latest In Human Nutrition' Today I read about: how fresh
herbs double the green nutrition factor of salads, figs fight fatigue, soy/cancer analysis,
dairy diet myths, and The Attack Of the Superbugs. Dr. Greger has recently begun work for the
Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), as its Director of Public Health and Animal Agriculture.
-
Vegan Health, which publishes articles about vegan nutrition, mostly written by Jack Norris, RD
voted Favorite Columnist two years in a row by VegNews Veggie Awards. Today I read up-to-date,
well-researched pieces on Hair Loss, Soy and Raw Foodism - I was impressed by the amount of new stuff
I learned.
-
76 Ways Sugar Can Ruin Your Health, contributed to Dr. Mercola's health site,
by Nancy Appleton, Ph.D Author of the book 'Lick The Sugar Habit'. I'm not a fan of this site, but
I think we all need reminding now and then why sugar is bad for us, because it's such a pervasive
habit, and this article is exhaustively referenced - obviously Dr. Nancy knows what she's
talking about. Read and Reform.
