Site Review: Abundant Earth: Sustainable Living - Organic and Recycled Products

Savvy Vegetarian News

Vol. 1, Issue 6, October 2003

Abundant Earth: Catalog site of goods made with organic and recycled materials. They offer a broad range of products: bedding, linens, furniture, rugs, cleaning supplies, air and & water purifiers, candles and much more. But not clothing. I liked everything I saw, although many of the prices were out of my reach. However, not everyone is as broke as I am. Things I could afford included hemp bags, cleaning supplies, and candles.

Abundant Earth has a search engine, straightforward shopping cart ordering system, complete product descriptions, and it was fairly easy to navigate and find things. My only quibbles are that the layout could be a bit simpler and more consistent. Some clothing and more personal care products would be nice.

Abundant Earth is transparent, which means the personalities, motives and actions behind the site come through clearly, and are consistent with the site content. They seem sincere about sustainable living, promote political activism, and make charitable contributions to their favorite causes. They obviously love what they're doing, and shamelessly promote themselves. (I do that all the time, so I think it's great).

Since I've never actually shopped at Abundant Earth, I can't vouch for the quality, the customer service, guarantees & returns, etc. They appear eager to help and to get feedback, and there are several pages of glowing testimonials regarding their products and service. I'd appreciate hearing from any of you who have had experience ordering from Abundant Earth
