Savvy Vegetarian Blognews and opinion on vegetarian diet and nutrition, vegetarian lifestyle, green living, and environmentSend comments to SV BlogTue, 16 May 2006Welcome to Carnival of the Green #27Carnival of the Green was created by Triple Pundit and City Hippy. Each week one green blog hosts the Carnival of the Green with a roving journal of the green blogosphere. Green as in environmental and sustainable. And not to be missed! This weeks Carnival is at Earth Echo - How To Make Friends and Influence The Planet. Last week it was Hippy Shopper (love those blog names!). Next week, the big show is hosted by Website Design and Promotion - helping socially responsible businesses improve web results through design, copywriting & marketing. The most interesting post this week was Is Organic Food Safer? from Joel Fuhrman, M.D. At first I thought he was saying that organic food wasn't effective in reducing pesticide exposure in children. But no, he was saying that exposure to pesticides and weed killers in the home is far more lethal. Another well researched and thoughtful section of his site was Diet Myths, which backs up all my opinions about diet supplements, the Atkins diet and other dangerous scams directed at people desperate to lose weight. There was another interesting post on the same theme from Organic Authority on the Environmental Working Group study about passing a chemical cocktail on to the next generation. And, Savvy Veg was there too, for the first time in a couple of weeks, posting about the usda and industrial-organics, and being naive. My apologies for completely missing COTG #25 at our own Iowa homegrown psychic healing blog, Spiral Visions. And for posting to but not about COTG #24 at the excellent Evangelical Evangelist. I'll try to do better, starting now. GO Be Naive at the Carnival Of The Green! permanent link to this entry |
