Environmental Issues, Letter: Protect National Forest Wildlife Habitats:

Back To Newsletter Index

This environmental issues article was forwarded to us in the form of a letter by a family friend:

I just sent a very important petition to Forest Service Chief Bosworth, urging him not to weaken federal protections for wildlife living in our national forests. This change would put many species of our vanishing wildlife at even greater risk and cause lasting, long-term harm to important forest ecosystems.

The federal government is about to evict bears, big cats, wolves and millions of other animals from their homes - all because the timber industry wants to saw down our national forests for profits. Under the long-standing National Forest Management Act, forest habitats are supposed to be protected for the wildlife that lives there.

Please go to http://www.saveforest.org to learn more about this urgent issue and to send a message to President Bush telling him to support these habitats that provide homes for endangered species and a balanced ecosystem for generations to come.
