9.11 Treehugger Message

When I got the latest Treehugger newsletter in my mailbox tonight, it started with a 9.11 inspired message, that I thought was worth sharing:

"Planet Earth is the ultimate 'share house' inhabited by a bunch of students from differing backgrounds. They've spent forever trying to learn how to get along with fellow housemates. Messes are made by some, cleaned up by others, there are those we like and those we don't. If it is going to work, it needs mutual respect, understanding and co-operation. As today's momentous date reminds us, humankind has always struggled to keep it together in this regard, even with just it's own species. We are never at fault, there is always someone else to blame. The inconvenient truth is that we are all now contributing to a problem magnitudes greater than any conflict over ideology. Let's hope we can move beyond who left the toilet seat up, and realise we have to all share this one home. There is no other."
