Hot Water With Lemon And Honey

Simple, Delicious Digestive Tonic, Great First Thing In The Morning

This is just hot water, with fresh lemon juice and honey added - warm lemonade. It's also an effective healing and digestive tonic. For variety, use lime instead of lemon. One important point to remember is that according to Ayurveda, honey shouldn't be heated overly much as it becomes toxic, so use hot but not boiling water for this. Use an organic lemon and raw honey to get the maxiumum benefit from this simple but satisfying drink. Children love it too, but not with ginger!

Ingredients and Directions

  • 8 - 10 oz hot water
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • Honey to taste
  • Pour the water in a cup, add the lemon juice, then the honey
  • Enjoy
  • Variations: use lime instead of lemon juice, or add a slice of fresh ginger, or a mint or basil leaf.
