Quinoa Chocolate Chip Chocolate Brownie Recipe: It's hard to eat just one of these gluten-free vegan brownies, even for those who shy away from the idea of a quinoa brownie.
That's how good these extra chocolaty quinoa brownies are. So make a double batch and share with friends!
These gluten free brownies call for quinoa flour, but can be made with millet or sorghum flour.

Ingredients:
- 4 oz baking chocolate
- 1/2 cup vegan margarine
- 1 cup cane sugar
- 1 Tbsp ground flax seeds plus 2 Tbsp warm water
- 1/3 cup non-dairy milk
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup quinoa flour
- 1/3 cup tapioca flour
- 2 Tbsp arrowroot starch
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp xanthan gum
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet or white chocolate chips
- Optional: 1/2 cups chopped walnuts
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Line a 9x9 inch pan with foil, leaving an overlap on two sides and grease the foil
- Bring a small pot of water to a boil
- Place chocolate and margarine in a medium-sized mixing bowl and place bowl over pot of boiling water and turn down to simmer. The pot should not touch the water
- Melt the chocolate and margarine together, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat
- Whisk in flax seed mixture, non-dairy milk, and vanilla extract
- In a small bowl mix together quinoa flour, tapioca flour, arrowroot starch, baking soda, xanthan gum, and salt
- Stir dry ingredients into wet ingredients just until blended
- Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts if using
- Scrape batter into pan and spread evenly
- Bake for 25 to 35 minutes (do not over bake)
- Allow brownies to cool in pan and then use the overhanging foil to lift the brownies out of the pan and onto a cutting board
- Slice and serve
Recipe Tips:
Quinoa flour is expensive, plus if you're not a fan of quinoa or have trouble finding quinoa flour, make this gluten-free brownie recipe with millet or sorghum flour instead.
Feeling nutty but don't have walnuts? Pecans or macadamia nuts are also good in these brownies.
