The Cheesy Vegan Cookbook Giveaway
Satisfy Your Cheesy Cravings: Enter to win The Cheesy Vegan cookbook by John Schlimm
This giveaway ended. The winner was Lisa Freeman Knapp. Thanks to everyone who entered!

The Cheesy Vegan by John Schlimm fits right in with the N. American love of sandwiches, pizza, pasta, cheesecake and mac’n’cheese - which often involve cheese.
Of course! When people go vegan, they don’t lose their taste for foods they’ve eaten all their lives, and become instant converts to brown rice, veggies and tofu - at least not right away. They also don’t necessarily become teetotallers.
John Schlimm understands all that very well and gives ordinary vegans what they want with The Cheesy Vegan, and his other cookbook, Grilling Vegan Style.
John’s vegan cheese recipes are simple to make, and closely mimic the taste and texture of the dairy based originals, with none of the downsides.
Even if you’re not vegan, you’ll LOVE these cheesy recipes - they are that good!

Between my son & I eating a vegan diet, and my daughter having lactose intolerance, cheese is a no-no in our house. Having alternatives that we can all eat without “issues” is always a challenge!
Looking for more options for my picky-eating, dairy intolerant son.
I love cheesy food but don’t eat dairy. I’d love to try out these recipes!!

I’ve tried one vegan cheese recipe and it did not turn out as I had hoped. I’d love to give the recipes in this book a try!
Thanks for the chance to win this book! I’ve been vegan about 18 months and am still looking for the Holy Grail of vegan cheese. Daiya and other store-bought cheese subs are okay taste-wise, but are so processed and have too much oil. I think homemade is definitely the way to go, and John’s book seems very accessible.

I love to find ways to avoid processed foods and making your own vegan cheese is huge! Vegan Cheeses in the grocery stores are super expensive, especially the ones that taste good. There’s not a lot of nutritional value in them. Homemade vegan cheese is the way to go!
I am trying to eat more vegetables and who doesn’t love cheese and vegetables…
I love the variety of veggie cheese recipes! Since I keep kosher, veggie cheese helps me add variety to my recipes and gives me more versatility and range! I woul love to own this cookbook.

Vegan recipes are good for our bodies.
Like so many vegetarians, I am always looking for non-dairy ideas for meals, though I am not a vegan. The contest is a cool idea. Thank you, and thanks for Savvy Vegetarian. You gave my retirement community a great recipe when you translated measurements for me. I think the cookbook might be a good resource to share with our kitchen staff.
Trying to get healthier in my life…and who doesn’t LOVE cheese!! :)
i’m always looking for a better cheese substitute than the faux cheese at stores. hoping for some new better alternatives!
Would love to try the vegan parm and cream cheeses. I gave up on commercial vegan cheeses a long time ago but have enjoyed some of the recipes in Joanne Stepaniak’s Uncheese Cookbook. Don’t have the time to spend all the time needed for fermented cheeses at this point.
